Marie Antoinette, Boo la la!

Apparently, Marie Antoinette first screening presentation at Cannes did not do any good. After the credits of the film were over people (mostly critics and film writers) started booing, Sure, there was some applause mixed in there as well, and it wouldn't be fair to say the booing was especially loud or persistent. But still.
At a news conference immediately afterward, Coppola, who did not attend the morning screening, was asked about this. "I don't know about the boos," said the Oscar-winning (for her "Lost in Translation" script) filmmaker, blinking, looking a little startled. "It's news to me."
She added, "Well, that's disappointing to hear." Then Coppola rallied: "It's better to get a reaction; it's better than a mediocre response. Hopefully, some people will enjoy it. I think it's not for everybody."
So, what's in this movie's future? time will tell.
In the mean time, let's hope audiences receive it in a much better way since it is opening this week in France. In America we'll have to wait until middle october...

Official website

Sony pictures has launched the official site for Marie Antoinette. At this point the website only includes the teaser - nothing new - hopefully there will be lots of updates going on within the next weeks.
There is also a registration link so everytime the site is updated you will get a notification via email.

I'm still longing for the Cannes film festival results, and perhaps some reviews of the film. No luck so far, so if anyone gets a buzz or something, please let me know.
